Cala D'Or Majorca

Cala D'Or Fortification

Cala Dor is a collection of coves which represent perhaps the most upmarket part of the southeast of the island. The area features many attractive whitewashed low-rise villas and hotels. Dotted amongst them are numerous chic bars and restaurants and a few historical places of interest such as the cliff top fortification at Es Forti.

Cala D'Or marina by day

The resort of Cala Dor is far more relaxed than the nightlife of Palma Nova and Magaluf and makes for a great location for family holidays. There are a number of great golden beaches to enjoy which are lined by low pine trees. The Cala Dor land train will take you from the town centre to the nearby marina where you can enjoy a waterfront meal.

If you're the sporty type then Cala Dor won't disappoint. There are facilities for sailing, diving, tennis, boating and golf.

Cala D'Or Marina

Cala D'Or marina at night

The Cala D'Or marina is a short walk down from the main resort and has a number of chic restaurants and bars with seating over looking the marina. It's a great place to relax and watch the boats come in and out of the marina. Likewise at night the marina come alive with light from restaurant illuminations and from the yachts themselves as their owners relax and enjoy dinner or a drink on their boats.

The Cala D'Or Land Train

Cala D'Or Land Train

Taking the land train is a great way to get around the resort of Cala D'Or. It'll take you to all the main parts of the resort including the Marina as pictured here. As Cala D'Or consists of a series of inlets or coves, getting from one part of the resort can sometimes mean a zip-zag of a journey and so the land train can come as a welcome relief to those not so good on their feet!
