which resort is the best choice for october for two adults and two teenagers

most resorts are open until after the half term holidays in October so any resort would suit two adults and two children. Livlier resorts are to the southwest, Palma Nova, Magaluf and Santa Ponsa - lots going on into the night. More quieter family resorts can be found to the east - Cala D'Or, Cala Bona, Cala Millor - hope that helps replied Karen on the 2nd Oct 2008 at 9:18

In Majorca June is the second driest month after July. Temperatures will range from 16 - 25 degrees C. A good month to go as July & Aug are too hot in my opinion replied Bev on the 7th Oct 2008 at 22:45

did you ever heard of a spanish man whose nickname was Tarek - because his father was in the army in the spanish sahara, in 1965/75 - his mother is from Napoli. In 1989(Pascua) he was working in tourism, for a spanish company, and stayed at the hotel Rocaflore of Palma - later on, in june 89 he left probably for Tenerife where he might still be working in tourism. It is important for my family to be in touch with him. Tks for your help

Is it easy to drive around the island. I would like to rent a car in June and have never used left-hand drive before. I'm not a nervous driver but would feel inexperienced for the first few days.

It is easy to drive around Majorca. The roads are not as busy as they are in the average UK town and the locals are more laid back and patient in my opinion. Just remember to stay on the right! replied Andy on the 13th Jan 2009 at 14:29

Have just booked to go to Cala D'or in August with my kids, 12 & 9. Can you give me names of some secluded coves/beaches that we could drive too?

you could drive to Mondrago Beach. It's on the Mondragó Natural Park and has a car park. The main beach is quite popular but as you approach the beach. on the left is the woodland of the park - keep heading left along a woodland path - 2-3 mins walk and you'll come out on a nice secluded cove - less busy than the main beach by far. replied Andy on the 18th May 2009 at 12:21

Is it advisable to make reservations for camping in July 2010

I'd recommend reservations purely because there aren't that many options for camping on the island - and July is likely to be a busy month. replied Andy on the 23rd Nov 2009 at 9:49

Public transport, Palma-Puerto Pollensa?

Majorca has a very good transport system throughout the island. There is a bus service from Puerto Pollensa to Palma but it's a long trip - about an hour. Here's a link to the timetable Click here. Those with blue shading mean swapping over to a train. replied Andy on the 29th Mar 2010 at 11:05
